A statement from Principal Attorney Paul J. Beard II after the oral argument (from our January 15 press release):
“I am proud to have argued at the nation’s highest court this morning, on behalf of the Koontz family’s property rights, and the constitutional rights of all property owners, nationwide,” PLF’s Paul Beard said in his statement to the media, in front of the Supreme Court, following oral argument.
“Yes, the case that the justices heard today is vitally important for the property rights of EVERYONE in America, from coast to coast. Because, in this litigation, the Koontz family and Pacific Legal Foundation are taking a stand against government extortion of property owners.”
PLF represents the Koontz family pro bono in challenging the unconstitutional demands of the St. Johns River Water Management District. A ruling by the High Court, sometime this spring, will have a significant impact on the Koontzes, but also for millions of property owners across the nation.
